through this newsletter of our parish. Let us
thank God for bringing us safely to the Tenth
month of this year.
I encourage all of you to participate in the wor-
ship service regularly. I call upon all youth to
participate and elders to give creative support
to our young people at the praise and worship

we will observe Kudosh Eetho: Beginning of the Liturgical Year.
Our Parish Convention is scheduled from October 27 to 30 at our Church.
Evg. Subi Pallickal. will be our Main speaker this year. I encourage all of
you to participate in this Convention in person and convey messages re-
garding this convention to your friends. It will help us to study the Word
of God.
Our Diocese is arranging a public reception to felicitate the Most Rev. Dr
Theodosius Mar Thoma Metropolitan on Sunday, October 9
th
, 2022, at
4.30 pm at Long Island Mar Thoma Church.
Our church began the process of electing four new Bishops. Let us pray for
receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit in the election process so as the elec-
tion will take place according to God’s will.
Let us all try to be instrumental to increase our fellowship at our parish in
various ways. I encourage you all to participate in the activities of the par-
ish to become a welcoming community.
May God help us to experience His presence through our worship and fel-
lowship and thus participate in the mission of God.

Youth Chaplain’s Message
Dearly beloved in Christ,
As we are now in the season of Autumn, it is start-
ing to get colder by the day and along with that,
it’s getting darker earlier. But one thing we tend to
enjoy throughout this season is when trees change
colors. It is always enjoyable to go on a long sce-
nic drive just to see the leaves turn orange, brown,
and yellow. Kids also love stopping on the leaves
to hear the satisfying crunching sounds that it
makes. As much as we enjoy the season and its
colors, we should be reminded that the colors are enjoyable only when the
leaves die. That is where its beauty is realized more. Christ has given us His
life while living and, in His death, burial and resurrection. He had shown us in
His perfection, how perfect He is to us and how we can enjoy being with
Him. In all seasons of our lives, we can abide in His beauty of holiness. As
we go through the season by season let us never forget God has given us the
precious gift of being life on this earth, to exist for Him. Let us do that to the
fullest.
This month we are observing Youth Sunday on the 16
th
. Let us thank God for
the growing generation of our church and continue to pray for them and be
there for them. Especially as the new school year starts, there is a lot of pres-
sure that the children face, I pray that families can come together and have
time to communicate with one another with understanding at heart. We should
pray that our present and future should be a godly generation glorifying God.
College Campus visits are going on this month, let us pray for the college-
going youths, especially those who started their freshman year for courage and
willpower to be disciplined and study for God. Our Men’s Bible Studies is in
person on Tuesdays at 8 PM. The Women’s Bible Studies are Saturdays at 8
PM on Zoom. I encourage all our youths to join and learn from God’s word.

OBITUARIES
Mrs. Mariamma Mathew, mother of our member Mrs. Soma John, 39
Brookland Farms Rd, Poughkeepsie, New York went to be with the
Lord On September 11, 2022 at Chengannur, Kerala. Funeral Ser-
vices were held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at St. Mary;s Or-
thodox Church, Puthencavu.
Our member Mr. Kochumman Daniel (father of Mr. Aju Daniel) went
to be with the Lord in Kerala on Sunday September 18th at the age of
75. Funeral Services were held at Bethel Mar Thoma Church Kottara
on Monday Sept 19th at 2.30 PM Indian Standard Time.
Mrs. Sosamma Philip, older sister of Mrs. Annamma Thannick-
al, was called to our Lord Friday Sept 23rd in Kerala at the age of
78. Funeral services were held in Kerala
On behalf of St. Thomas Mar Thoma Church NY, I express our sin-
cere condolences to the bereaving families and pray that God give
them sufficient courage and strength to face this difficult time.
